Amaretto liqueur is created from a base of the pits of almonds, apricots, or a combination of both. With Amaretto already containing a slight almond flavor, we take it one step further and combine our Amaretto flavor with additional toasted almond flavor to create our Almond Amaretto flavored coffee. The slightly sweet taste of Amaretto blended with toasted almond offers a unique twist to a traditional favorite coffee flavor.
Amaretto liqueur was first imported into the United States in the 1960's. Amaretto liqueur was created by the Lazzaroni family in Italy in the 1850's, for use with based cookies. As the US adapted Amaretto liqueur to use in desserts and baked goods, the next step was to offer it as a coffee flavoring. By taking amaretto one step further, adding our toasted almond flavoring just creates a heavy almond flavored Amaretto that has become one of our most popular coffee flavors.
